Our Sanborn Map: A snapshot of Ocala's history

Located on the top shelf of our bookshelf is an old leather bound book held together by aged tape. Its pages are worn, but what they contain is a storied piece of Ocala history. Our Sanborn Book (Click here to read more on Wikipedia) has been used since the early part of the 20th century (1930's) and records the building footprints and relevant details of Ocala's urbanized areas regarding their fire liability. It records an early snapshot of our city's history and growth.
